Car Rental Agreement – Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement Validity
• This Agreement is valid from the date of commencement stated in the rental contract.
2. Vehicle Inspection & Equipment
• The customer must inspect the vehicle before receiving it.
• All tool kits, spare tire, and relevant equipment must be confirmed to be present.
• The customer is fully responsible for the cost of any missing equipment.
3. Vehicle Use & Maintenance
• The customer shall exercise due care and caution while using the vehicle.
• The vehicle must be stopped immediately in case of any warning signals or faults.
• All fluids (oil, coolant, etc.) must be maintained at manufacturer-recommended levels.
• The customer is liable for damages caused by negligence.
4. Authorized Drivers
• The hired vehicle must only be driven by the customer or any authorized driver listed in this agreement.
• Subleasing or handing the vehicle to any unauthorized person is strictly prohibited.
5. Accidents & Insurance
• In case of an accident, the vehicle must not be moved until police permission is obtained (Traffic Police: 199 or 17872222).
• A police report must be obtained and Bahrain Rent A Car must be contacted immediately.
• Without a police report, the customer will bear full repair costs as insurance will not cover the damages.
• All vehicles are insured under comprehensive coverage.
o Standard deductible: BD 100
o Deductible for customers under 25 years old or with less than 2 years’ driving experience: BD 300
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited under Traffic Law No. (9) of 1979 and Ministerial Decree No. (28) of 1979. Any violation makes the customer fully liable for all damages and injuries.
6. Accident Repair & Garage Charges
• If the accident is the customer’s fault, garage rental charges will apply:
o Small cars: BD 8/day
o Midsize cars: BD 20/day
o Large vehicles: BD 30/day
7. Maintenance & Repairs
• The customer must not carry out repairs or maintenance directly.
8. Traffic Fines & Penalties
• All traffic fines are the responsibility of the customer.
• Bahrain Rent A Car (BRC) reserves the right to charge the hirer’s credit card for any traffic offences.
• An additional BD 10 administration fee will apply if BRC must intervene to process fines.
9. Damage Responsibility
• The customer is responsible for identifying the person who damaged the vehicle.
• If not, the customer shall bear full repair costs.
10. Rental Extensions & Payments
• Rental extensions must be requested at least one (1) day before expiry.
• Approval is subject to timely payments and compliance with all terms.
• In case of delayed payments, BRC may:
o Cancel the agreement
o Retrieve the vehicle immediately
o Take legal action, with all legal fees (court, lawyer, etc.) payable by the customer.
11. Vehicle Usage Limits
• Daily rentals: 150 km/day allowance.
o Excess charged at: 100 fils/km (small cars) | 300 fils/km (large cars).
• Monthly rentals: 4,000 km/month allowance.
o Excess charged at: 80 fils/km.
12. Condition & Cleanliness of Vehicle
• The vehicle must be returned in the same clean condition as received.
• Excessively dirty interiors requiring shampooing (fluids, food, vomit, stains, cigarette smoke, odors, etc.) will incur a BD 20 fine.
• The fuel level must match the level at the time of handover.
o Refueling charges: BD 3 – BD 7, depending on level and tank size.
13. Forgotten Items
• Bahrain Rent A Car is not responsible for any items left inside the vehicle.
14. Customer Cooperation
• During the rental period, the customer must cooperate with BRC for any required service, maintenance, or traffic inspections.
